Things to do in nature

I really enjoy nature. It gives me a place to relax and relieve stress these are some of my all-time favorite things to do in nature.

ONE – Hike

Hiking is something I love and do quite often. Its something I can do by myself, with my family, or with my friends. Plus hiking benefits me, how amazing! Hiking helps with improved positive mood, enhanced relationships with friends and family, lower body fat, and a better quality of life overall. I have been on many hikes but my favourite is right in my neighbourhood at Riverside. You can do so many things, there is a park, birds to feed, and it’s totally free. All you need to go there is two legs and a heartbeat.

TWO – Snorkeling

Depending on where you live, snorkelling may cost more money than hiking but it’s so weird to enter a whole different atmosphereXXXX and experience what the world is like underwater. In grade 7, I went to Hawaii before the lava came through. When I was there our rental home was steps away from lava heated tide pools, since the tidepools were heated by the lava the coral was very bright and fish were plentiful. When the tide came in, it created a current that would pull you back to the shore, when in the current different fish and coral speed past. It was so cool to see underwater nature something that we normally don’t get to see and to think that we know more about space than our oceans.

THREE – Camping

Summertime is one of the best times of the year. No school and no homework to keep you busy, just you and two months of friends ahead. Honestly, that gets boring after a little while. I love to take a break and camp, it gives me time to get off of Instagram and enjoy the outdoors without it being boring.

FOUR – Sailing

This summer my family and I took sailing lessons. It was really fun and I would definitely do it again. I really liked to steer the boat, and tip the boat. Tipping the boat was actually one of my favourite parts of learning. When the boat tipped you had to climb up on the side and pull it down, this for some reason it was really fun to me. Did you know the wind doesn’t push you when you’re on a sailboat? It actually pulls you! The sail has the same effect on the wind as an airplane wing. I thought this was really cool.

FIVE – Surfing
In Canada, there are few spots to surf but there are lots of places outside of Canada to surf. It was really cool to learn how to balance on a board and be able to cruise to the beach. My favourite part was watching my parents fail. It was really amusing to see my parents catch a wave and try to stand up on the board, just to fall down .0005 seconds later. This experience was one of the best in my life, I hope to do it again sometime.

These things are great things to do. They have a variety of prices but every one is worth the time and the money you spend.
